Following promises that Irish Water would be able to commence work to rectify the environmental and public health disaster that is the Shannonvale sewage overflow in November 2017, we are now greeted with news that proposed works in Timoleague and Courtmacsherry will be going ahead, while Shannonvale has been dropped from any immediate plans.
Cllr. Paul Hayes (Sinn Féin) has raised the issue again recently at Cork County Council and with Irish Water, and the Southern Star have once again published an article on the scandal.
