Following contact with local residents of Shannonvale, Clonakilty, West Cork TD Holly Cairns (Social Democrats) visited the village park today to see the state of the sewage leak in-person. Also joining the community delegation present was Cllr. Paul Hayes (Independent), a member of Cork County Council, who is very familiar with the site, and has worked for many years on highlighting the issue.

Cllr. Hayes, having made numerous representations on the issue in the past, promised to share with Deputy Cairns any information that he has previously gathered, and both have pledged to press the issue further with Irish Water, Cork County Council and the EPA.
